HP’s super-light Ryzen AI laptop with 16GB RAM is only $550 today
It’s been a rough month or so if you’re looking for an affordable laptop, but deals are starting to trickle back into the marketplace. Take this HP laptop, for example. It’s a 13-inch portable design with one of the latest AMD Ryzen processors, and right now you can get it for $549.99 via AntOnline, $370 off the original price. The OmniBook 7 Aero is designed for maximum portability, with a 13.3-inch 1920×1200 screen and 2.2-pound weight. The AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 is a 6-core processor with an integrated NPU—not the fastest on the market but almost sure to run circles around any laptop from three or four years ago. This model also comes with 16GB of RAM (the lowest I’d go for Windows 11) and 512GB of storage. I got a chance to check out this laptop in person earlier this year. As small and light as it is, the laptop has a decent spread of ports, too: double USB-A, double USB-C, and full-sized HDMI, so you can leave the dongle at home. With AMD’s integrated graphics, it should handle medium-duty gaming well enough, too. The only thing I’m not super enamored with on the spec sheet is the battery, which is only 43 watt-hours. While HP says that’ll last you 12 hours and change with mixed use, I’m not so sure. But considering the savings on this deal, I think that’s an acceptable compromise. This is a new laptop, launching just this year, and not refurbished like many deals in this price category. AntOnline is offering free two-day shipping (at least to my address), which is pretty darn good. Get it now while you can! Want classic Outlook to always reply to emails in a new window? Here’s how!
When replying to emails in classic Outlook, many users prefer to work or write in a new window. But after reinstalling the app, you might find that this no longer works. Here’s what you can do. The option to reply to emails using a new window can be reactivated in the settings. Navigate to File > Options, then click on the Mail item to the left in the dialog window. Scroll down to the Replies and forwards section, then tick the checkbox for the “Open replies and forwards in new window” item. Confirm with OK. The change is immediately available without restarting Outlook. Note that Microsoft wants to get everyone off classic Outlook by 2026, so you may want to migrate over to the new Outlook app sooner than later. Fortunately, Microsoft will soon make it possible to run both classic and new Outlook side by side, which should help make the transition that much easier if you’re still holding out. Google’s Gemini AI can summarize Drive PDFs and Forms responses soon
In a recent announcement post on the Google Workspace Updates blog, Google announced that it’s continuing to integrate its AI assistant Gemini into Workspace with new features for Drive and Forms. In Google Drive, PDFs now get automatic summaries that show key points and suggested actions right in the sidebar. The feature supports over 20 different languages and it’s being rolled out now. In Google Forms, Gemini can automatically summarize responses once at least three people have responded. This feature will be available on June 26th and will initially only be available in English. On July 7th, Google will also release a new tool that allows users to quickly AI-generate forms based on a simple description and existing documents in Google Workspace.

How to add helpful prompts to Microsoft Excel cells
Did you know that you can leave notes on specific Excel cells for people to read? It’s a great way to safeguard against data entry mistakes by putting in reminders or instructions. Here’s how to set it up: Click on the cell where you want the note. Go to the Data tab at the top. Click Data Validation in the Data Tools Group. In the window that opens, go to the Input message tab. Check the box that says “Show input message when cell is selected.” Add a title (32 characters). Type your input message (255 characters). Click OK. To help other users fill in the form, you can integrate hints into individual cells that appear automatically when you click on them. IDG
